2000 jetta overheating fakehatch 09-26-2005, 11:25 PM
My buddy owns a 2000 jetta. The engine is overheating. We've replaced the thermostat, flushed the system..... The car is also NOT kicking out any hot air The only other things we can think of is the heater core or the water pump. Any ideas so we don't go out an spend money on parts we don't need? All help is appreciated. Thanks.... boschmann 09-27-2005, 09:29 AM Water pump is the most common cause w/those symptoms. fakehatch 09-27-2005, 10:13 AM Water pump is the most common cause w/those symptoms. How do I go about testing the water pump to be sure that is the problem. I am 98% sure that is it but I don't want to get that far into the hood (i.e. messing with the timing belt, etc.) without knowing for sure. Any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.
