Hello:
1995 GMC Suburban 5.7 4WD
This weekend, the heater hose that attaches to the top center of the water pump broke off – it has a weird spaced-age connector end that corroded and cracked all the way around and broke off with threads??? still in the water pump housing.
Questions for parts ordering and repair:
How do I tell if I have ‘auxiliary heat’ – same option as front/rear A/C?
What is the likelihood that I can get the broken off piece of the connector threads out of the water pump housing?
The threaded part of the connector is very corroded and pretty soft. Can I 'chip' it out somehow, or am I going to have to replace the water pump?
Thanks

i had the same problem i dremaled the piece inside till the threads where even, i picked at it till i could get most of it out. I went to orchard and bought a new brass fitting, i covered it with silicone on the threded side ans ran it in. it went in aliiltle hard. I took a chance but only cost me 5.00 bucks instead of 150.00 bucks for a new pump. I have 75k on the new fitting no leaks. Worth the try just a few bucks and and alittle time.

Had the same problem got new water pump at NAPA with lifetime warranty for ~$45...
New fitting ~$6
Was worth it to me to have new pump vs. fixing one with 150k+ miles on it...
