smell of my carstad017 09-25-2005, 03:35 PM i spilled gasoline in the backseat of my car and the smell is horrible is ther an easy quick way i can get this smell out of my car that0neguy 09-25-2005, 10:34 PM I spilled gasoline in my trunk the other day when filling up a tank. I just opened the windows and trunk, and took out the mats and washed them. The smell took about one day to go away. In another car, a friend threw-up, and I continuely washed the seats for weeks, and it took a month to come out. So it could go either way. I suggest washing seats and carpet and leaving windows open if you don't have to worry about getting robbed. I think the lysol air spray works well too. Hmm, I always though gasoline smelt alright. Is that wrong? ;) twospirits 09-26-2005, 03:21 PM Hmm, I always though gasoline smelt alright. I'm sure that would be a great method of getting rid of the smell, however it would create a much different type of smell... :evillol: But seriously, I have spilled gasoline in my car before and all I really had to do was to wash the area spilled and let it air out. 91sl1 08-27-2006, 09:17 PM Like ludespeed501 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=313560) said shampoo the area I work in a carwash detail shop and we have this all the time I probably do 3 a week its either gas or milk or one time it was a fish that had thawed out talk about bad but yea just take it to a car wash with a detail shop ask for a spot shampoo or splurge and get the whole carpet shampooed its should be between $5 and $25 luv2detail 09-04-2006, 11:51 PM You could pony up a few hundred dollars for an ozone machine. It kills any odor and can even get rid of vomit and cigarette smells. Just clean the source of the odor first (It won't magically make vomit disappear!), then put the machine in the car for an hour or two. http://www.o3ozone.com/ozone_generators_air_purifiers/ozone_generators.htm vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
