Why do older Trackers look so nice ?

Now that we have purchased a '93 Tracker (see 9-19-05 post),
I notice Trackers on the road...

It is very interesting that MOST of the Trackers I see are kept
up well - at least the exterior.

Almost all of them that I see are clean, the paint is nice and they
are lacking the normal dents and rusty spots.

The Tracker is a nicely shaped or styled vehicle. Clean looking
style.

Is it just me, or do most Tracker owners keep them in good shape?
Women like them....is it because women own most of them?
Women like to drive a good looking vehicle........

My wife wanted the Tracker - otherwise I'd have bought a Metro
for the better mpg.

Ya, mine is one of them, if you are from the south the paint and body have a chance, but i am from michigan, no live it texas, but the car has spent over 10 years in michigan. My car has seen too many winters, the under coat has given up and the iron moss have taken over. I am use to the rusting part, but when my door is falling off because of rust, i get a little frustrated. So in michigan they rust, in the south they look great.

no saying this you are probably from wisconsin, or michigan, and nothing i said holds water.

Well got to go

not totally true.. i have a 96 Tracker (pictured in the intro thread) and it still has a very solid body.. no visible rust, and has been run for several winters.. although garage kept.. which helps a great deal.

the 92 tracker i used to have was the same way.. had a very solid body as well, the only place i had a problem was around the rear wheelwells and on the tailgate.

that actually sounds like mine started, it was the tailgate, and the very back corner of the car, then the gas tank, doors, and the front fendors. I did not have the luxary of a gurage, which didn't help. it might have lasted longer with one.
