92 Non-Turbo money eater with start idle problem....EDMUND65 09-24-2005, 02:07 AM As you all know i have a 92 eagle talon non turbo... I've done some tests and stil it neeeds to be diagnosed... further than what i've done... I'm haveing trouble idleing.... heres what i've done, replaced spark plugs with NGK's, New plug wires (tested the resistance of them and comes out good or within spec), New coil pack (tested within specs.), Fireing order is correct, Compressoin goes 180-177-183-179 (1-4), Car running fuel pressure is 47psi, Volume for about 15 seconds is one 20 oz of mountain dew, engine light was on (o2 sensor, replaced and no light on now), car was set in base timing by grounding the connecter behind the battery and grounding pin 10 on the OBD connector under dash, timimg was set to 10 degrees, and idle set at 1000... unplug that car idles at 1500rpm.... with car in base timing the TPS was adjusted to .48volts-.50volts( not sure right now of the true spec, but i kno its set right)..., dont kno if this has anyting to do with it the catalytice converter the insides are like knocked out, and some of it is just rattleing in there... but dont think that that could cause my problem... also replaced all the vacuume lines (ones that run from top of throttle body, but its funny i take one off and stick your finger on it, no vacuume there, to any of them...) sorry about the bad writting...so i mean come on... lol damn DSM, love the car, wish it was turbo, just would like to have a car that runs right.. leave responces lets figure this one out... ned032002 09-24-2005, 12:00 PM Now this question doesn't just go out to you Edmund65 but to everybody, Can you remove the throttle body and soak it in like carb cleaner to remove the oil and the dirt from inside the intake housing? What I mean is that the small line that runs from the valve cover to the intake pipe has some oil in it so that gets pulled into the throttle body. Causing some possible problems with the IAC (Idle Air Control) motor. What my question is could your IAC be clogged with oil? If I am wrong about this please correct me. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
