This car was given to me and I am having a problem.
Problem is the car runs sweet for like 20 to 30 minutes driving time, then if you come to a stop the car will die. The car will start back up and run sweet as long as its in park or neutral, but as soon as you put it in drive or reverse the car dies again. If you let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes it runs again for 20 to 30 minutes. I have checked fuel pressure and changed the filter and the problem is still there. Theres no check engine light that comes on, so theres no codes to pull. I hooked up to the computer and the only code that came up was the #12 code. And that code just means the computer is working right i believe. Any help would be great. Thanks

Try shifting the car to neutral as you slow down and see if it stops dying. If it doesn't die in neutral, you have a bad TCC solenoid. When a TCC sticks, it acts like a stick shift that you forgot to push in the clutch when you slow down. The engine will lug down until it stalls. You can unplug the electrical connector to the TCC on the front of the transmission to keep the car from stalling until you can get it fixed. The only ill effects will be slightly lower highway mileage, and on a long trip, the trans will run hotter.

I have shifted to neutral and it will stay running, but as soon as u put it in geart it will die. I will try that this car is only a work car that I drive 22 miles a day so I dont think I would have to worry about it being hooked up am I right or wrong ?. Thanks for the reply

go ahead and un-hook it. 22 miles is a short trip, and you should see no ill effects.
