Would this have been a good deal for 5300? They sold it already. I'm new to the world of 4Runners and was wondering if a 4Runner over 100,000 miles is worth buying.

I have a Ford Explorer '94 with 170K miles with horrible rattles and shakes when I hit bumps... it is on its last leg but runs well.... 4Runners keep up over the years pretty good?

I spent 5600 on a '94 with 78000 miles and yes this was a good investment. The only problem is that the bottom of the passenger door is rusting but you cannot see it from the outside. The 4 runner should go 200k miles and no they do not shake, rattle, and roll like american trucks do. It looked like a nice truck.

I have a 90 4runner, I bought it with 190thow on the truck for 3500. I just rolled it over 201000, still no shakes, rattles, roles, or any other questionable noises.

Your link no longer works.

Toyotas and 4Runners seem to hold their value well.
The used value is usually higher than similar models of other brands. It is also a regional thing.
Used Toy trucks go for much, much more in the Pacific northwest than here in the mid-Atlantic for example.

If maintained they will last forever.

Not a bad deal. I just bought a 90 for 3k. with 280k miles on it. I feel, its a good Investment on some future fun. Just do IT! If you feel good about the deal. I had a 97 p/up, I ran it up to 350k miles, gave it to my little sister, she still takes it off-road and going strong!

I got my 2000 4runner for $9900 with 113,000 miles on it. I had to replace the shocks and the ignition key tumbler, but it is totally reliable otherwise. It looks and drives like a new truck.

Yep... the link is broken... sold.

Thanks for the support ya'll.

I just bit the bullet and did it. I just got a '01 4Runner SR5 and so far it beats my '94 Explorer Sport in all avenues. Picked it up at a CarMax.

This is a solid vehicle and I'm glad they run as sharp as they look.

Finally, I've joined the club!

So, is there a known aftermarket supplier for 4Runners that anyone suggests... that would make you say "Oh, you gotta get on their catalog mailing list!"

Not sure how much modification I will do to it but nice to browse at all the things that are available for 4Runners.

Thanks again.

It's funny... being in Texas... the Toyota trucks are starting to out number the domestic trucks in the parking lot at my work. That means something about the long term quality.

Depends, you looking for dress up stuff or wheeling stuff?

Really just fun stuff to look and browse.

probably more like interior accessories or perhaps where to get good parts... such as... noticed one of my power inputs on my dash has a door ripped off... I also plan to use it as a hunting and fishing vehicle so would like to find some sort of rod holder or cargo area mat... just things like that.

you wont regret it, I own a 94 and a 03, and will not look at another suv except a Toyota.....www.performanceproducts.com has a real nice aftermarket website for Toyotas, a little pricey on some items. just search the net.....

Pay price for the Factory Service Manuals (FSM)
You wont regret it and they will pay for themselves the first time you want to add or modify wiring.
Don't even waste the $14 for the Haynes manual.

Enjoy
