belt change on 96 bonneville

Has anyone done this ? There is a motor mount in the way and im afraid the dealer will charge at least a hundred bucks for this !!! thanks !!!

Yep, I've changed mine twice, and you definately have to remove the bolt out of the lower mount. Not as bad as it sounds though, but you do need a special socket to fit the bolt. It is the kind that looks like a male version of a Torx, not sure what it's called. There is a sleeve that the bolt goes through, once the bolt is removed the sleeve will come out. It takes a little wiggling to get the sleeve out. After that the belt will go on.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that the easiest way to get at the bolt is to jack up the right front and remove the tire, then the inner wheel well has a panel that needs to be removed, just a few sheet metal type screws, and you will have plenty of room to get at that bolt! Don't forget to put a jack stand under the right side!!!
