I have white rims and I love them, but I find that if I clean them really well in the morning, they are back to being dirty from one day's worth of driving. WHat's the cheapest way to prevent brake dust besides getting those covers that go in front of the rotors?

Different pads. AEM and EBCs are not supposed to dust as much

is that the only way? New brake pads?

yes pads usually make the difference. they are made of differennt materials and depending on that material, they will give off more or less dust. EBC is made of a very hard compound that wont flake off as easy.

my AEM pads make a lot of dust........ either that or its just because i have white rims =/


dont know how much stock makes tho cuz i changed out the pads before i got my rims

Those covers look UGLY! You can do it that way just don't expect everyone to say NICE car to you :)

AEM pads are a grayish compound compared to black compounds on other brands. You can get a harder pad which will not dust as much but will eat up your rotor quicker.

Would you recommend the AEM pads, or something more like EBC's? And what do you think of the Stillen Metal Matrix pads?

Well I know Axis metal masters dust like mofos, so don't go with them. THey perform very nicely however.

yeah can you give me the exact names or models of the pads you would reccomend so i can research on them?

I had the EBCs and they glazed over in about 3 months. So I would go with the AEMs unless you don't mind taking the pads off and sandpapering them once in awhile.

The Metal Matrix pads do dust more than my AEMS or EBCs.

The best thing to do is buy gunmetal wheels :) You don't see any dust on them - at least for me.

AEM pads for me, it is then. :)

Have fun. Just to let you know how well the AEMs worked I took them down to VIR for a track day/school. They didn't fade all weekend, but my brake fluid boiled over :)
