1991 Tracker 1.6 SOH engine . this engine runs great lots of power etc but will not start unless you pour gas in the Throddle body. It spits and sputters and starts right up and then runs great. I put a snowmobile primer on it and am using it to start it. I just bought this tracker it has almost all the sensors replaced on it and a new injector . I tried a new fuel pressure regulator - no change. Looks like a new fuel filter near the fuel tank. I have not checked the fuel pressure. When I turn on the ingnition I can hear the fuel pump in the rear. Any thoughts?

when you turn on the ignition do you here the fuel pump turn on for three seconds to prime the system if not may be the fuel pump relay is no good or the ecm. because once you start the engine the relay click to the other side on allows the engine to run. mine is a 95 tracker the relay has four prongs on it two of which goes to the initial start mode and the other 2 for the constant run mode.

i hope this help.

I removed the ECM and shipped it to Mandigital (ebay) It was returned within the week and pluged it in. The Tracker started right up. The priice was right $65 and it worked. When you remove the ECM go through the left radio speaker. Just take the two center screw out and lift the unit and it come right out then you can remove everything else.
