hi, my 98 windstar has all the problems too! but i think i can help track down the "BAD" door adjar sensor that keeps the lights on. start the van, (then it happens, the lights comes on and you here 3 or 4 beeps) with all the doors shut and somebody inside, go around and open and close each door one at a time. each door working proper will beep, the door you open that doesn't make the beep sound is the door with the faulty sensor. (because it thinks the door is already open). i think the sensors cost around $20.00 to $30.00 each depending on which one.
i hope this helps, good luck!!!

Once you determine wich door has the faulty sensor simply unplug the sensor and spray it generously with silicone plug the sensor back in and it should work. Thats what i did and now everything works fine.

How do you take the door apart to find the sensor to clean it??

Door pannels are held on by both screws and plastic button darts. Get a tool that is to remove the darts. Becareful not to break the pannel. If you really want your job to last, remove the latch and clean it with a good solvent and then relube it with a good spray lub.
