truck turns over no crank

2000 s-10 extreme (flex fuel) new fuel pump and filter @ 60,000 mi. another pump and filter @ 124,000 - truck has 125,000 now only 1000 mi. on new pump. acts like fuel pump again. Starting fluid in the intake and it runs fine on this. Some days runs some days does not. Anybody have any clues.
