'00 GA SE stock radio removal tibboneus 09-14-2005, 05:22 PM
I have no problem swapping out the stereo and I'm suring it will work fine(I did it on a 96 in no time at all), but I can't seem to get the dash panel around the radio off. I just can't figure out how to get it off? I can't find any site out there with that dash and I am stumped. If anybody can help, preferable with pictures that would be great. I am assuming that a '96 grand am uses the same adapter as a '00. tibboneus 09-14-2005, 05:26 PM found something. Didn't think to search for 'dash'. - Edit - "in order to take the center dash pannel apart you must remove both passenger and driver side lower dash panels to expose the screws once you have done this you will remove one screw from both sides and the rest of the dash if friction fitted. any more questions just ask" http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1161386&postcount=4 This did not seem to help me. I must be a simpleton or something, but I could not seem to get it apart still. Are there any pictures out there? xeroinfinity 09-15-2005, 02:14 AM the front bezel around the radio is just held on with friction clips. It just pops/pries off around the edges of the bezel. spazGASE1 01-14-2007, 07:24 AM hi, just trying to figure out how to get my stereo out of my 2001 grand am, both back speakers have stopped working, but after reading a little bit i believe i can do it...........i also an having that annoying clicking noise behind the stereo......hopefully the relay replacement will do the trick xeroinfinity 01-14-2007, 10:50 AM Welcome to AF spazGASE1.
