I removed the fuel pump fuse on my car, but i wasn't able to relieve the fuel pressure. After the fuse is out and you try to run the car, it should start then die out. In my case it wouldn't start at all.

any suggestions?

Use a small Phillips screwdriver to relieve the pressure from the fuel rail just like you are letting air out of a tire. You will see a cap on the fuel rail, remove it and wrap a shop rag around the Schrader valve and insert the screwdriver into the valve to relieve pressure using the rag to soak up the fuel. Do not turn the ignition back on until you complete the task you intended to do. Wear safety glasses in the event some fuel tries to spray in your face!! :newburn:

This should not happen if you keep the rag covering the valve. Better safe, than sorry!

I almost forgot, with the fuse out for the fuel pump, your engine will not have enough fuel pressure to start. That is the purpose for ignition on - fuel pump prime circuit activated, and pressurized fuel rail prior to start!
