Just wanted to let everyone know, as I have seen a few posts about problems in 3rd and 4th gear, I recently had the same thing happen and the transmission was shot. Sorry to break this bad news to anyone and I hope it isn't that for others as it cost me just under $2000 to have the thing rebuilt, but thought I would mention it as I just had the problem.

Now, if someone can help me figure out why my car idles so high when I start it and it idles high when in drive as well, I would appreciate it. Mainly, am I looking at something that is going to cost an arm and a leg? Vehicle has just over 132,000 miles. The transmission place mentioned it could be the sensor controlling the idle while the car is warming up... any ideas?

it could be your idle air control motor or even something as small as a vacuum leak in your intake manifold.
