I have a 98 Dodge Caravan 3.0. I have had an oil leak, thought it was comming from a bad o'ring under the distributor. We changed that, it was good for about a week and now not only is that leaking again, but it seems like we are leaking from other places now. Someone mentioned it may be the pcv valve. Please let me know opinions and difficultness of this job. I'd appreciate any info.
Thanks!!!

It wouldnt hurt to change the PCV valve, its an easy chore.

dont know if that would help or not though. If your engine has a lot of miles on it it may have piston blowby into the crankcase which can cause oil to force itself past some of the seals.

My 92 has 179K miles and has a little blowby, and thus has a few small leaks but as long as it doesnt get too bad I will just live with it when I figure that a new motor (or rebuilding this one) costs more than what the van is worth

Thanks. The van has about 85k on it.

I would not think that is enough mileage to cause blowby unless there is a mechanical damage cause for it. Try changing the PCV valve and see if that fixes it and let us know what happens

Good luck!
