Nisson sentra speedometer cable

Hi folks,
I just purchased a 92 Sentra, which has had the automatic transmission replaced. Problem is, the cable from the transmission to the speedometer is different from the original one. The newer transmission is from a later model. Is there an adapter for this problem, or is there some other "simple" solution besides changing the transmission (which is not an acceptable option)? The engine/transmission combo works good, except you cannot tell your speed.
