96 Sub brake light wire to tap for controller???

Help,

I have a 96 Suburban K-2500 that I am installing a brake controller for and have completed the installation except for connecting the brake wire to the cold side of the brake light switch.

I can't see the switch because it's on top of the steering colum and there are hundreds of wires and I'm not sure to tell which is the right one.

Can anyone tell me what wire (color) to look for to complete this connection and installation?

Thanks very much!!

Just get your head under there as close as you can and then press the brake with your hand. You will see it right away. It only has 2 wires. I think either one will work.

Actually, the switch is inaccessable and locted on top of the steering colum and is barely visible due to all the other "stuff" in the way.

There is a harness of 6 wires coming down from it and I found out that it is the white wire that I needed for the brake controller connection.

Made it back from Vegas to Denver and have to come down several HUGE hills and two passes but the trailer brakes worked great!

THere is also a place to tap in with a small female spade connector in the grey box to the left of the brake pedal. I forget which one it is, but if you use a test light and step on the brake pedal, you will find it. I found the info on the web some time ago. This is on my 99, I assume it's the same for yours.
