Air Conditioning..Check Engine

Hello All,

Well it seems that my Check Engine Light has returned, but this time the code shows the A/C as the problem. There is a fuse for the AC Clutch that I was thinking about removing. Since it is getting close to fall, really have no use for the AC. Rather save my money and worry about it in the summer. Can I remove the fuse permanently? Is there another way to disconnect the AC without it sending a code to the Computer?

I would keep the AC functioning. The defrost uses the AC to clear your windshild.

However, if you do want to keep the compressor from running remove the plug that engages the clutch. It should be just behind the pully on the compressor.

What is the code that you are getting from the A/C?

Something like 1452?? Can't really remember as the guy I bought it to is now on vacation and I have to get it re-scanned.

If he had the a/c on while testing it will leave a code.

With out the code I could not tell you. I would need the correct code to give you an idea. I have never seen an a/c system set an engine light code. The only time I saw a problem with the a/c was when a diode went bad and spiked the ecm.

I got the codes read over the weekend and it showed 401/402 EGR Excessive flow/EGR Insufficent flow. My mechanic believes that it may be the EGR Selonid/sensor, and if the EGR ports were bad, then you should get only one code.

Any takes on this??

You may have to replace your egr valve or I found out on another one of my cars was that i had excessive carbon buildup so i cleaned it out of the egr valve and also cleaned the throttle body and have had no problems since.

I would check the DPFE itself. The DPFE "measures" the EGR flow and reports to the PCM.

Since you are getting conflicting errors I would suspect this item first.

There is a test procedure buried in this forum somewhere.
