My 1997 diesel 3/4 ton needs help! Here are the symptoms.
sometimes when keyed its just clicks after several tries usually will start.
ALso sometimes after it starts it makes a horrible whining , grinding noise
sounds like from the starter. When it does this also it will not shut off!
WHen i turn the key off it simply keeps running making that noise.
Any help is apprieciated.

sounds like the starter soloniod is sticking causing the starter to run all the time. that is where the whinning sound is coming from. hope it helps

You don't need to buy a whole starter in some cases. You can just get the contacts for it.
