A Soldier's story (trans out)jazjem 09-06-2005, 11:02 AM A Soldiers story, Right now I am currently engaging they enemy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.... Needles to say at home I have a 626 that went down due to trans problems. the trans feels as though there's something slipping in it. like a wheel passing a gear. Its feels as though its not catching. and theres this loud CLUNK and a JERK when I drive it. What a head ache. I love the car but I hate the euro. There is only one Mazda dealership in the one of seven states of Germany that I live. And they charge like it too. They want to charge me 600 euro ($800) just to look at he tranny... What could be wrong with it any suggestions? I have a 1999 mazda 626, 4cyl, automatic, 2l that has had the tranmission go out on it. I am currently stationed in Germany and it will cost me 5000 euro to replace the transmission. That is more than $7000!!!! I want to know if anyone knows of a place that has a transmission that I could purchase and if it could be shipped to my address. I have an APO address but the shipping rates are the same as if mailing to the US, most noteably to NY. I've read countless entries on bad transmissions and I am submitting my complaint along with every other consumer who feels abandoned by Mazda. I'd appreciate any help i can get.. Thanx and remember the soldiers mazdatech177 09-07-2005, 04:39 PM yeah, your trans has shot its wad. a very common problem for the 4cyl 626 trans. we get about $3000 for replacing it with a remanufactured unit jazjem 09-08-2005, 07:24 AM yeah, your trans has shot its wad. a very common problem for the 4cyl 626 trans. we get about $3000 for replacing it with a remanufactured unit Hey, do you know of anyone that would ship to an APO so I can buy anothertrans and getrollin again vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
