I read on the internet that adding 3 oz of acetone for every ten gallons of gas will increase fuel mileage by causing better atomization and more efficient burning. Has anyone tried this? I have a 2005 with the 5.3 Vortek.

Thanks

I doubt it does anything useful, besides, acetone is pretty expensive and damages many plastics/urethanes.
I wouldn't use it for fear of the long term damage it could cause.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet :)
This may be a good thing for race cars that get torn down regularly but doubtful for street use.

And you will add this to your new 05 truck under warranty and then slam the dealer when they charge you for replacing the fuel system componants because of contamination.
Fill your tank with Top Teir gas and drive on..DO NOT add any additives!!!!!!!!!
