EGR Valve for 1993 Trooper?treacherous 09-03-2005, 03:49 PM Anyone know of a cheaper place for EGR valve for a '93 Trooper? Dealer pricing seems to be around $180.00 and most parts stores do not seem to carry this as an aftermarket part. Seems to be difficult to find the correct part online as well. Thanks! Treacherous rodeo02 09-03-2005, 05:56 PM I would talk to Merlin w/ St.Charles auto. Try www.stcharlesauto.com Whats up with your EGR valve? Blown diaphragm? Problems with the pre 1998 EGR valves themselves are rare. It's usually clogged plubing, or a problem with the vac supply to the dome of the valve. G/luck Joel treacherous 09-09-2005, 03:28 PM Do you know if this is the same exact part used in Rodeo's and Passports from 93-96? Not sure what problem is. Getting code 31 for EGR problem. Port into intake was clogged as I verified that by applying vacuum to valve prior to cleaning it did not stall at idle. After cleaning out and testing valve again it operated as it should. Changed vacuum lines to valve and tested with vacuum pump for leaks and all seems good. Oxygen sensor was replaced a while back as well. Could it be a defective Oxygen sensor replacement? CEL comes on under load and goes off at idle. The EGR tube from exhaust to valve isn't plugged. It got a lot better with CEL after EGR cleaning but hasn't gone away completely. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
