Hello, I just joined the forum. I have a 96 Trooper which needs a new Fuel Pressure Regulator which I understand is a common problem. How much time should I allow? Where is it? I'm fairly handy with auto repairs but most of my experience is with 1970 autos. I'm planning on keeping the Trooper since it only has 86K miles on it so I'll probably be around this forum for awhile. Thanks for your help!

In case someone else needs to replace it, here the scoop. You'll need a torx (sp?) screw driver and a 22mm wrench. The FPR is up front near the top of the engine. You have to take out the two hoses to gain access. Unscrew the nut on the bottom, first. I had to really crank on it and use some WD-40. After you get that off, take out the torx screw - that was really tight also. Wiggle it out of the fuel tube. My new FPR didn't come with a new rubber o-ring for the intake but the old one was in good shape so I reused it. It took me about an hour and a half but I could probably do it in 30 min now that I know what I'm doing.
