Okay 2 weeks ago, I bought my 96 windstar for a great deal. I should have known there was something fishie about the seller of the van. He seem to be in a rush on getting it sold. I was iffy about buying the car because when I first started it, it had turned off on me and was shaking. I told him that I didn't want it, he swore that there was nothing major, that it was just sitting there at the lot for awhile and that why it was shaking. :screwy:

Well, I decided that I couldn't past such a great deal :grinno: so I want ahead and decided to buy it under one expectation, that we took it to see why the engine light kept coming on and to the mechanics. We managed to take to autozone to test the engine light and the guy said there was nothing major, but to get a new egr valve and he also mentioned one of the sensor gone bad, he says that was all the machine dected. The guy kept saying I told you, :evillol: there was nothing really wrong with it. Anyhow, he then deducted the cost. We didn't manage to take it to a mechanic because it was already to late of the day. Foolishly, I went ahead and bought it! :banghead: Yeah, I know, I was so mad at myself and so was my HUSBAND! Anyhow, it was so clean in and out, even the motor was sparkling it. I guess that doesn't say that everything else was. Now, the seller of the van did show me a receipt of the new gasket they had put in it. I made the final decisions after seeing the receipt. When I researched this vehicle faults one of them was the head gasket problem. Well, at the end I came to find out I needed a new gasket valve because the guy that put in the new gasket did it wrong! Another cost to my pocket.....

Well, just recently I took it back to autozone and they told me there where no major problems all I needed more* was one spark plug @2 that gone bad and the speed sensor. Anyhow, me my husband decided to give it a complete tune-up. I mean from head to toe. Since we recently found out that this guy didn't take proper care of it. When I called him to ask about when was the last tune-up, he couldn't even remember when he did anything to it! :eek7:

below, I have a list everything that I hired my mechanic to do to this van! :smokin: I bought the stuff at autozone and he is going to do it for much less. It may run me $100-125 labor. Spent about $200 for the parts.. That not deducting $20 gift certificate at autozone for every 5 visits. You wont believe how many (punches) on the card I got from it. Kept going there buying piece by piece spending $20. It was worth the visits and the gift cards! :lol2: I even got in some rebates coming by mail. I had to save every little penny! :p

Here the list:

1.New Plug & wires
2.Gasket-Needs new valve
3.New Egr Valve
4.Air filter-needs repl.
5.Radiator needs to be cleaned and flushed
6.Transmission needs to be drained
7.New fuel filter repl.
8.New sensor speed
9. oil change
10. New windshield wipers front and back

After that I have to get a new motor for trunk and rear motor for the windows on the back! Plus a new fuse for signal light that are not working. Did I mention, fix left driver side window to go up & down!? :crying:

Yeah, I know, alot D&*^ repairs. I will show you all a photo of the van and let you know all know if all the expenses was worth it.... I will keep you all informed.

>Problems as we speak:
Car is currently at the shop waiting for full tune up.
Problems:
The Car tends to stop at traffic light or when idle. It shakes and smokes, engine light and oil light comes on as well of knocking sound from under the car. I also hear some rattling from the back of the trunk!

Did someone say, I have been sold a LEMON! :1zhelp:

Well, see what happens. I will update as soon as I get the car back. 8/31/05 as of today...
