I searched but could not find a direct answer to my question. Is it possible to swap out a FWD ecu for an AWD ecu? Im doing a 95 ecu conversion so I can run DSM link. I have a 1997 Spyder GST, so my question again is, with my FWD car, can I use an AWD ecu?

I dont think you can, assuming the awd ecu is calibrated differently to run the different transmission, but I might be wrong.

Yes, you can use the ECU from an automatic, FWD, AWD, 5-speed....it doesn't matter. The only requirement is that it's a turbo model car :)

Just keep in mind that running a 95 ECU in the 97 and up cars requires swapping the ignition coils around. Using the AWD ECU will also remove the ~130mph speed limiter too by they way.

Thought I would just add for future searches that the 1g ECU matters whether auto or manual since they came with different size injectors.
