1995 Intrepid ES Heater Control won't turn onn0c7 08-31-2005, 01:34 AM My heater control in my 95 Intrepid wont turn on sometimes. If I remove the unit and replug it back in it lights back up and the screen with the temperature comes back on. If I turn the car off and leave it, sometimes it will come back on and other times it wont. No commonality found yet. Also, sometimes when I turn the car off it sounds like the heater is running very very low through the vents and lasts a few minutes. When the heater switch wont turn on, warm air comes through the front defrost vents(not fun on a hot day). Any suggestions? AWP9521 08-31-2005, 04:09 PM Common problem with ATC equipped vehicles, the head unit goes bad or operates sporadically at best, you'll probably need to replace it. Save your pennies because they are NOT cheap to replace unless you can find one used and the seller feels sorry for you. The low motor noise you are hearing is a tiny fan running for the ATC's cabin temperature sensor, it' purpose is to draw air over the sensor to measure the temp and it located behind the emblem on the passenger side of the dash. The motor will run everytime a door is opened on the vehicle for a few minutes and then shut down or will run when the vehicle is running. n0c7 09-01-2005, 01:26 AM Thanks for the reply.
