Carb choice on 73 390? Callook 08-30-2005, 12:13 AM
I got a 1973 F250 with a 390, headers, 2 1/2 pipe and glasspacks. What would be a good carb for low RPM torque? I not good at getting low torque just high RPM horsepower. I have the stock 2 barrel. Arrowshooter 08-30-2005, 09:59 AM Holley 600 be a good choice. Callook 08-30-2005, 10:06 AM I looking for something that will work good with the stock cam, I need the low end torque. Arrowshooter 08-30-2005, 03:38 PM The Holley 600 is a very good all around carb that would work well with your application. I had one for years on a 352 and put one on my father's 360 and they just run. Callook 08-30-2005, 05:58 PM I'll check it out. If I did want to change the cam, say a little more lift, this carb would be enough. Sorry for the ignorance, new to carbs, I'm an EFI guy. Arrowshooter 08-31-2005, 10:26 AM The carb should be fine for mild "RV" type cams, say a .470, .480 lift.
