I believe the amp is internal unit in the CD player, the little box is either an automatic seatbelts controll unit or A.B.S. system controll unit.

I don't have auto seat belt, they are illegal in Canada. And I doubt it's integral.

The thing under his seat is most likely a control unit for a speaker and mic for a speaker phone setup for a cell phone..my step-dads truck has it.

your old speakers might have had external crossovers but thats the closest to an amp you should get stock.

well on the s14 the amp is in the trunk between the rear speakers but the s13 thats weird i have no idea..

Well, turns out that the circuit board behind each speaker was the amp for the front, but looking at wiring diagrams, I seem to have an amp for the rear speakers, I'll try to find it. BTW, I just installed my 4 JBL 4x6s and they sound really good, but they have no power, so time for a sub to take care of the low end.

get some 6X9s and sink them into your trunk cover. thats what i'm gonna do for now.. i'm not planning on spending lots on audio till i've hit 250whp

Trunk cover? That flimsy piece of cardboard that hide the insides of the trunk? It'll rattle itself to pieces if you put speakers in there.

maybe mine is different.. check my cardomain and you'll see a pic of it.. its more than a flimsy piece of cardboard with a rockford fosgate emblem on it (3D) they'll be solid in there. if not then i'm gonna weld a frame for them. i've got a buddy who can get ahold of all that shit now. he's in heating and air conditioning.. HOOKUPS hahah not really but it helps
