Have you asked your friends why they say your engine is getting too hot? Maybe there is an oil leak and they smell oil burning off of the hot exhaust.

no they don't smell oil burning just hot air coming from under the car and through the vents of the ac when its off you can fill that the car gets wormer as the car stays on for more time. thanks in advance :)

So the exhaust system is is getting so hot that people notice something isn't right. Maybe your engine is wasting fuel because it isn't running right and the catalytic converter is burning the extra fuel or the ignition timing is retarded. Catalytic converters can get hot enough to start the car on fire or anything flamable under the car. The heat will melt the inside of the converter, ruin it and plug the exhaust.

I've noticed my Altima runs hotter than any other car I've owned. It never overheats, but the fan kicks on about four times as often as my Civic.
