Transmission problems

Hi-

I rebuilt my transmission in my 1998 Windstar last October. I really had not done too much highway driving with this car since then. I did do a longer highway drive in early June and noticed that my "service engine soon" light came on and at the same time the transmission started shifting funny especially from 1st to 2nd. I figured that it was probably a leak and I took it back to the place that rebuilt the transmission but before I did the tranny seemed to pretty much correct itself. They found nothing to be wrong and they reset the service light and sent me on my way. The light came back on again not too long after that and I then checked the manual and it indicated that this light means and emmissions problem.

I then had to van tuned up and reset the light again. After that I took a trip out of state on the highway driving fairly hard and during this trip the light and the transmission problem returned and this time was leaking from what turned out to be the main transmission seal.

I had it towed to the same place and they had to replace the seal and some other parts and it then operated normally for about a month when after driving fairly hard on the highway the light came on again along with the unusual shifting.

This time I got a diagnostic done and I got transmission error code P01744.

Has anyone had this type of problem happen to them and can anyone give any insite on this issue?

All help is greatly appreaciated.

Thanks
