Add-On Transmission Cooler?

Is there an aftermarket add-on auxiliary transmission cooler for a 2000 3.8 Ford Windstar? I have read too much about what heat does to these transmissions and would like to prolong the life of it.

I added a Derale 17.500 GVW cooler to my '96 3.8L.
I did have to adapt the 3/8" lines to the 5/16" lines that are on the windstar.
It is a VERY good idea to add a cooler.
You want the fluid to flow from the transmission....through the factory cooler inside the passenger side of the radiator.....then through your auxilary cooler.....and back into the transmission.
After I bought my cooler.....I found this website that had them cheaper....

Aux trans coolers are fine if you poke around under the hood regularly. Rubber hoses and hose clamps will fail eventually. Even a slight hemorrhage will drain the transaxle in no time & strand you. High quality hydraulic tubing and fittings is a much more reliable setup, but is $$$.

Can you give me any idea as to where to mount that puppy?

I mounted mine to the front of the radiator assembly. I used the included plastic straps that you press through in between the fins of the radiator...and press a cap on the other end.

I mounted mine up behind the grill that is between the headlights. Right in front of one of the fans...and more protected from stones than mounting it lower. Was not real easy....unless I would drop the antilock brake assembly to be able to remove the fan assembly. I shoved my hands down there to fasten the straps....and cut off the extra strap. I have had the cooler on for just over a year with no problems.
