A/C troubles

1999 Conversion Ram Van 1500 (Primetime), 65K, 5.2 litre engine

AC works fine, nice cold flow, when driving at a steady speed. . But, if there is a vacuum drop, such as accelerating up a hill, the venting systems switches to the defrost vents, then returns to the normal vents as the engine steadies itself. This happens all the time. Was there a service bulletin on this or other thoughts?

Replaced the vacuum hoses. In doing so, I found a previous repair that somehow sealed a vacuum motor that controlled the heater/cooler for the passenger section of the van. In effect, it would blow warm and cool air when the A/C was on. After cleaning the RTV junk out of the vacuum motor, and replacing the hose, all trouble are gone and the passenger section cools instantly! Total repair price…$3.00.
