Don't really know what it is. I have good driving habits, and i believe fuel filter is the only thing that i haven't changed out mpumas 08-22-2005, 05:47 AM A smog test will tell you a lot about your engine such as unburned hydrocarbons, CO2, NOX etc which could lead you to what is causing low gas mileage. I don't think a fuel filter could cause problems with mileage but an air filter could. libraboy1021 08-22-2005, 06:10 AM A smog test will tell you a lot about your engine such as unburned hydrocarbons, CO2, NOX etc which could lead you to what is causing low gas mileage. Also check to see if your head gasket is ok. if your head gasket leak or break then it is not good. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
