overdrive helpdxegrl77 08-19-2005, 05:20 PM I need help. lol! i have a '94 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4. i bought it used without an owner's manual. i have two questions. the first on is: how do i know if overdrive is on or off? i have automatic transmission. i usually drive in the overdrive mode. when i push the od button, and the lite is on, it sorta drags, doesnt move very fast. when its off, no problem. do i need to turn the lite on or off and do i need to put the jeep in a different gear? the second question is: today i had a digitial message that said "service 4wd swth" it only came on once, didnt stay on. what does it mean, and is it something i need to have done now? any help would be appreciated. teemsta 08-19-2005, 07:40 PM when your light is off that means the overdrive is ON. its better to drive with the O.D. on because you will get better gas mileage at higher rpm's. if you do all city driving then i would leave it off ( light goes on). my "service 4wd switch" is always beeping and showing. i dont think its vital to replace but i just ignore mine. there are threads posted with that topic, try those. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
