95' alarm system

Does anyone own a 1995 Toyota 4Runner, drop-tailgate, 4WD?

I need to know how the alarm system works. I looked in the manual but it didn't say anything about the alarm system.

How do you turn it on in the first place?

Once I have it on, how does it get set off and can I use my keys to unlock and lock the doors instead of the button things?

I know where the switch is, but I can't seem to get it to come on. If there is a link to a site that may tell about it PLEASE put it on here. I took about an hour and a half surfing the web trying to find something about the alarm system but found nothing.

So if you have a 95' 4Runner, a similar one, or know something about the alarm systems any advice would be helpful. I just put a $600 sound system in it and want a little bit of safety. Thx,

Alright.....I guess since no one knows about the arming or disarming the alarm system, maybe you can answer this. In Toyota 4Runners, when you disconnect the battery cables and it resets the alarm, how do you get the alarm system working again? Is there some sort of way to turn the system back on so that the button things will work again. ANY help will be appreciated, thx

Well, since no one knows about the history of 4Runners I did some research and found out that Toyota didn't put factory alarm systems in their 4Runners until 1996. My system was put in by a used car dealer. Since NOONE knew that apparently, now you know.

Hey Silver Cobra, I read my instructions and with all my doors shut I pushed the button on the key fob and my parking lites blinked twice and the light began blinking on the dash and if you bump the car or open a door the horn starts to beep. Pushing the button or opening the door with a key dissarms the alarm.
