fuses/brake lights ON, headlight switch nottoolbelt 08-16-2005, 07:53 PM And no one in drivers seat depressing brake.....? Thanks, I have a 96 grand cherokee laredo Its hot and daylight, I turn off the car, lock the doors and walk towards my mailbox (have to walk behind the car) and walking back to the house, I'd swear my brake lights are on. I approach the back hatch/door and sure enough, they're on. Thing is, its broad daylight and I'm positive I didn't have the headlights on. The car keys are in my hand. I go to the fuse box on the passenger side and check the "brake" fuse and it says 15A and thats whats in there. I check to see if its a good fuse and it is. I pull the fuse, walk behind to check the brake lights and they're off. I put the fuse back in, walk behind and check brake lights and they're on again. Anyone have a clue whats going on? To get them to go off, I put a 10A in and it appears to be working as it should (for now), although I haven't really driven it. Thanks, Toolbelt 89ltd 08-16-2005, 11:20 PM It could be your brake light switch located down under the dash at the end of brake pedal is faulty, maybe have some one pull up on the pedal and see if the brake lights go out. I don't see why they would go off if you put a 10 amp fuse in there unless it just blows the 10 amp one right away. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
