22R-E cold start injector sending unit???

Hello!

My 1986 Toyota RV has a starting problem; a garage mechanic diagnosed it as a bad "cold start injector sending unit": he wired up a simple on-off switch to bypass this unit so I could get home (this was in the Winter).

Now I'd like to replace this part so it works correctly, but my local NAPA/AutoZone needs to know what it is properly called (or even where it is!)...The Toyota dealer won't even look at it (says an RV conversion isn't handled by their shop)...

It's the 22R-E 4-cyl fuel injected engine; a modified pickup truck. If I knew where it was, and could take it out and bring it to the parts store (or even BS the dealer), I could probably get it identified and a new part ordered...

Help!

Better information can be found in the 4Runner forum for this engine. Moved

This may be the answer if your truck looks like this:

Hmmmmm...The pic looks like the truck cab all right, but the engine itself doesn't have that big lump off to the left...Don't know what that might be, even...

But the Start Switch seems to be in the front of the engine block, one of two, on the right side (looking forward)...

I'll take a look after work and see if it's there...

Thank You! :D

Big lump to the left is the intake plenum.

Big lump to the left is the intake plenum.

..."D'Oh!!!"... :D

Yeah, I guess that's what the drawing is supposed to be...

OK, I found the Time Switch, at the front of the block. Looks easy to get to.

Thanks for your help! :grinyes:
