i have a 2000 GC and in the past month and a half it's been at the dealers shop for about a month. First started when one morning it wouldn't start, would turn key, would run for a few secs. and shut down. Eventually it would start, but the windows, locks, temperature, gauges, air would not work, the interior lights would stay on and the door chime would go off with the door off and with no key. First time at the shop, it was back to working normal and nothing would read wrong. It ran for about a week until it did it again. second time i had it towed there and they said it was the command module, $450, went to pick it up and it was fine for another week. 3rd time back i told them to call the factory rep (don't think they did) got new keys cut,$30, and they told me the command module they put in tested bad and replaced it. ran for another week and died (right before we left for vacation). now they said it might be the fuse junction box under the dash has a short, $650 part,$150-200 labor. I'm at the end of my rope here. has anyone else had similiar problems? Did the dealer drop the ball? It''s been in there for at least a month off and on, and i dont think i should end up paying $1,300 for a problem that should have been found earlier and without this much expense. and can the part be bought somewhere other than the dealer, have looked around and haven't found it yet.
