Is it normal for Jeeps to go clunk, dksob81. Big NathanBig Nathan 08-15-2005, 11:25 PM dksob81, Big Nathan. saw your post giving a helping hand to cntryhillilly. It concerned a problem they were having their tranny. Hope your info was helpful in getting their tranny problem corrected. The question I have for you dksob81 is in reference to it being normal for Jeeps going clunk, when put into reverse. My Jeep Grand Cherokee does that and I thought it was due to it needing the universal joints replaced because, from previous experience this was useally an indication they were going bad. I had no idea that this is a perfectly normal occurance in Jeeps. Is this on the up and up dksob81? And why is that so? Just what is that clunk if not the joints going bad? SteveB05 08-16-2005, 02:59 AM It is very common due to the amount of play in the drive train. Big Nathan 08-16-2005, 01:49 PM SteveBO5; Big Nathan, Thanks for the return response to the question about the clunk in Jeeps. Man, I guess that adage about learning something new everyday still a fact. Thanks Again SteveBO5 Big Nathan. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
