Adusted the torshion bar on 99 Blazer[RIT]IVIr_Evil 08-15-2005, 09:00 PM I raised the front end of my blazer by turing the torsion bar a total of 4 rotations on each side. Is that too high? And will it cause any harm? Aslo I went to Auto Advanced to look at shocks and the guy told me he put Rancho RSX17000 to give it a 2 inch lift on his blazer. They are 75 a piece.. are they worth it? I was wondering if I could do that to mine with out hurting any components and still run the reg stock tires. not 31's... ? BlazerLT 08-15-2005, 11:24 PM I wouldn't use shocks to lift your blazer. Rmbodie 08-16-2005, 05:28 AM A lift kit comes with new adjusters for the torsion bar that will allow you to twist it more . They also come with a new upper "A" arm with the ball joint mounted in a different angle to handle the extra height . Turning the adjuster and raising it like you did may cause the upper ball joint to break when it bottoms out against the spindle unit . You should jack the front end up by the frame , Let the front suspension hang free and check the clearance of the ball joint shaft to the top of the spindle. It will also mess up your front tire alignment . Rob [RIT]IVIr_Evil 08-16-2005, 09:07 AM thanks.. im going to go jack it up and check it out in about 3 hours.. ill get back to what i find... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
