I have been searching threads for a while now trying to find someone with my problems so I decided to post my problem.
About a week ago my A/C wasnt running very cool so I checked the pressure and saw that the low pressure port was low. I bought one of those all-in-one kits that have refrigerant, oil, sealer, and booster with a guage attached. Filled it up the high side of the operating pressure (blue zone on guage) and it worked fine for a few days.
Yesturday I tried to turn on the A/C and it didnt come on, no light. I started driving along and felt cold air coming throught the vents. I immediately opened the hood and saw that the compressor was on and cycling on and off about every 15 seconds. The accumulator (or whatever the silvery bottle is called) was ice cold and dripping water though the ac light on the computer climate control was not on and the vent fan wasnt on either. I thought the computer climate control was bad so I decided to detatch the wire from the accumulator to stop the compressor from coming on and try to get another climate control soon.
I parked for about three hours and when I started to my surprise the ac light was on, the vent fan was spinning all seemed well so I put the wire back onto the accumulator. About a minute later the a/c light went off the vent fan stopped spinning and the compressor started cycling on and off. Has anyone had a similar problem to this.

did you fill it with the AC and the fan on MAX?

Yes I did because at the time the A/C was working

recheck the refrigerant pressure with the AC and fan on max again.

It might need a bit more.

I will do that right now to see if the problem persists

Boy do I feel stupid. Pressure was low added refrigerant problem solved. A/C is cold as Alaska, thanks BlazerLT sometimes the answer is the most obvious. Never thought low pressure would prevent the A/C vent fan and light from coming on. Seems like I have a slow leak somewhere will solve that soon. Now that i have solved that problem I have a couple questions.

(1) Is the Accumulator bottle supposed to be cold with condensate dripping from it during operation
(2) My exterior vent is stuck open and I can hear air being sucked in from the outside by the wiper base whether on refresh or recirc. How do I close it.
(3) I saw two of those vacuum things that open and close vents behind the glove compartment one works as I change from head to foot and the other does not work at all. would this be the one for the exterior or is there another behind the dash some where.
Thanks for any suggestions

You might not have a leak, you might have just had to wait as the refrigerant you added ciculated throughout the system which then would require a top up.

You might have a vacuum hose off if that exterior vent is vacuum controlled.
