Tail gate warningnorman52 08-15-2005, 11:43 AM My info panel keeps telling me my lift gate is open on my 1996 GC Limited. Since it is closed tight I assume there must be an adjustment somewhere for the sensor that reads that the lift gate is closed. I looked around and saw nothing so where should I look? This only happens once in awhile and is usually during a hard left or right turn. didmaster 08-16-2005, 04:11 PM My info panel keeps telling me my lift gate is open on my 1996 GC Limited. Since it is closed tight I assume there must be an adjustment somewhere for the sensor that reads that the lift gate is closed. I looked around and saw nothing so where should I look? This only happens once in awhile and is usually during a hard left or right turn. Hello, I have a '96 GC limited and I am having the exact same problem. My problem started a few months ago with the "liftgate open" notice on the display. The problem has only gotten worse and the display now reads this all the time. To make matters worse, within the past couple days, my interior lights blink on and off when I go around corners. Also, my alarm goes off for no apparent reason and I have resorted to not arming it when I park. I simply lock the doors. I have read some other threads where people mention a sensor for the liftgate. Does anyone know if this is the cause? And does anyone know how to replace the liftgate sensor? I would rather fix this myself, but I don't mind taking this to the Jeep dealer, I just want to know exactly what it is that needs to be replaced. Any help would really be appreciated, I am pulling my hair out because this is driving me crazy... :banghead: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
