We replaced the brakes and battery. The trac off light appears and shifts really hard. If someone has the trick, let me know please, driving it with shifting hard is a pain. The car did not come with manual. Thanks for those that have the idea.

when you replaced the brakes did you do the c-clamp thing to push the piston down? Did you bleed off the pressure at the wheel/caliper or did you let the pressure go to the master cylinder? A good bleeding might help also.

also check the ABS plugs on the wheel sensors. Just behind the brake rotors, usually a blue cap on the plug. If these are all in check you may need to replace them. The bearings and ABS sensors are built into one peice. I'v replaced mine on a 99 GA three times(both sides at the same time).

I have the exact same problem on a 2001 GA. Let us know if any of these solutions work.

is the tracoff button on the dash by the hazzard lights pushed? if its not that then check the abs/hub unit may be bad. Do a search for ABS or Hub bearings in these forums, lots of people have the same problem, \,,/

The Trac button is not pushed in. The problem only happens occasionaly. It seems mostly that whenever the brakes squeal, the trac off light will come on.

i see. i would say there has to be a short somewhere or the wheels spinning. Does this happen like when you take off or just drive'n down the road and it flashes? If the plug on the wheel hubs are not loose the Hub Units may be going bad.

It happens ocasionally when you are driving, then the Trac Off light will come on and stay on until the ignition is turned off. When the car is restarted the light will stay off. Will check the connections on the hubs and let you know.
