I had a couple of good races with a Spec V last night.. I believe the Spec V was stock, if anything exhaust.. I don't know about anything else, didn't ask. I definitely give the guy props, he could drive excellent!

We were racing on a small strip of road from a stop.. we maybe got up to 75-80mph... so maybe a 1/8th.
First race I got a bad launch.. which kills all hope for my car against the Spec V's torque. I started to pull on him but then he missed 3rd gear.

We lined up again later. I got a proper launch and had maybe a fender on him by the time we both gripped. I pulled on him slowly the whole time until the end at about 80mph I had about a car length or so on him.


Then TONIGHT...


I really didn't expect the outcome of this one. A guy in a brand new (i'm guessing, still had the dealer tag on) 350z starts pacing me and floors it. Starts pacing me again (i'm going about 60 in 4th) so I accelerate up to 65 and he starts accelerating also. I downshift to 3rd and he floors it also.. amazingly we stayed dead even all the way up to 100 or so when we both shut down. After this we are rolling up to a red light.. and we're both almost at a stop when the light turns green. We're both rolling in 1st gear side by side.. I blip the throttle to make sure he's game.. he takes the bait and I also foor it.. perfect shift to 2nd followed by perfect shifts to 3rd and 4th.. through every gear I pulled a few feet. By the end of the race somewhere around 100mph his front bumper was just off my rear bumper (funny this was the same outcome of a race I had with a G35 sedan a couple months ago).

After the race he rolls beside me and has the biggest grin on his face. He gives thumps up and says great race. He gets ahead of me into traffic after that. At every other light I could hear him burning his tires at every light enjoying his car.. heh I guess he still had much to learn about driving his car. :)

Nice Kill On Spec V but 350z was probably Auto and he wasent that good of a driver. My freind have G35 coupe manual He puts bus length on Bolt on Celica.

definitly a very cool guy, if i lost to gts in my new Z, i would be pullin my hair out. haha, but your gts is very fast reguardless so the best mod for you being the driver was enough to take him out.

Yeah, nice races. I'd have to agree that I would expect the Z to have come out on top as well. My friend has one, and their very nice cars. But you won, so congrats.

Most 350Z's i've seen run a 14.5 sec. 1/4 mile stock at the track I go to (One 15 sec. one I saw, but he couldn't drive at all). I'm surprised at your win against the 350Z, but not at all w/ the Spec V Sentra. Good kills though. Why haven't you added any bolt ons to that car yet?????? Those cars react very well to minor bolt ons.

the 350z i met up with on the interstate one night really didnt impress me that much with its speed it pulled hard but my cressida kept out in front and we were runnin about 115-120mph. but his handling did impress, having to move around traffic seemed effortless

I just got my exhaust put on a few days ago. My CAI comes in today :) . It'll be a long time until I have enough cash for my next mod.. Apex'i Power FC (about $1,000 with datalogit).. then I have to get a wideband setup along with that.. ugh.. yeah it'll be a while lol

i heard the rxs-s is faster than the gts, i beat my friend rsx , by 2 car and half and i just got and nismo intake, my friend have computer , vitec regulator , headers , exasht and he is so slow, my other friend he has a spider gt with i/h/e , computer, msd , cables and he toll he whop and gts celica by 5 cars and i stay with him until 4 gear then he start to pull and he just got 2cars a half with me. me car is a se-r spec v 04 with intake . i race and GLI and beat it by 2 cars and that car is turgo , and with the sti 1st and 2nd we were head to head then in 3rd he pull 2 cars and stays 2 cars ahead untill 130mph , dont tell me you goin to beat and sti 1st and 2nd.

ok a spec v with just intake might be good for a 15.1 and thats if ur a really good driver. no way u can take an sti from a roll.. and if the gli was stock then it was not turbo.. they run high 14s. the rsx and the gt-s is a drivers race. umm nothin u said really made sense..

but anyways, dont count the spec v out tho.. with intake full exhaust and cams they can run mid low 14s. 350Z's should run high 13s low 14s. and the autos run mid 14s.
