Sorry, if this question as been addressed before, but I couldn't find this topic regarding a 92. My 16 year old son is my mechanic (lol) and we are needing some assistance. The A/C is blowing full strength on all settings, but it is warm/hot air. What do we need to check first? Thanks

Welcome. The first thing to do is see if the compressor clutch is engaging. Look at the end of the compressor with the engine running and the ac off. The outer end of the compressor does not turn. Turn on the ac, look at the end of the compressor. If its turning, its probably low on refrigerant. If its not turning, its either really low on refrigerant, or there is a bad sensor, relay or fuse. Check the fuses first as they are the easiest and least expensive.

Skibum, that have R-12 in the 92's? If so lhall, you may want to change it over to R-134a. The change over isn't expensive, just need someone to use a vacum pump and remove the old refrigerant. The new 134a is 'alot' cheaper. Heard R-12 runs around 80-100$ a pound which it needs around 1.75 lbs. for a fill. That is if the compressors in good shape. Hope this helps

Most of the 92's I've seen in the yards all had 134A in them unless they were a f*rd, they were a little slow in changing over. The easiest way to tell is look at the charge port, if it looks like you could attach a bicycle pump to it its got r12 in it, good luck finding that anymore as they don't manufacture it anywhere in the world that I know of, plus as far as i know on this one its illegal to sell it in the states anymore.

my HVAC guy still has r12. It's limited suply I heard and expensive. But the change over would be worth it, esspecailly this summer. \,,/
