Smoked and smoked bad by an Evo2000LS1Z28 08-12-2005, 09:43 PM It would only figure that i'd get smoked by a car I use to have. Some dude in an Evo MR is on the 2 freeway going north. I saw him race a BMW, and witnessed him getting cut off by, guess what, a minivan (Or maybe I imagined it being a minivan). Anyways, I decided, i'll make him happy, so I downshifted into 3rd around him. He of course knew I wanted to run (My car is loud). I gun it, and he follow, F&*king guy must've been hitting the brakes while gasing it, cause he almost hit my rear bumper. I brought it to the top of 3rd and 4th, and this dudes car was definitely ready to pass me. I'd say he had a good 30 whp over me, judging by how fast he made up the distance I had from the go. Whatever his car is, it ain't stock. :cwm27: the_armo911 08-12-2005, 09:52 PM what car u got man? lol makes u wish u still had that Evo solaris=amazing 08-12-2005, 10:10 PM You got an LS1 camaro right..?got beat that bad..? I do think he's packing more hot-to-cold flow if you get my drift.. 2000LS1Z28 08-12-2005, 10:30 PM I own a 2001 Trans Am WS6, with the following mods: Z06 cam Whisper Lid SLP Pulley Thunderracing Catback LCA's PHB I'd say he was running alot more then stock boost, cause my former Vishnu Stage One Vishnu wouldn't have pulled like that. That car was insane. I think I know the guy too, he use to own an MKIV Supra. clawhammer 08-12-2005, 11:33 PM So why did you sell an Evo for a Trans AM? apostrophe28 08-12-2005, 11:54 PM your right he had to have a list of mods cause my friend has a stock evo and its slow for a sports car RaidenKing 08-13-2005, 12:20 AM your right he had to have a list of mods cause my friend has a stock evo and its slow for a sports car well evos are by no means slow cars (4dr) but at the same time a z28 should be able to take a stock evo out from a roll considering the evo has some short gearing. Good run, too bad you guys didn't get to line up. Skyline_R32_Canada 08-13-2005, 12:50 AM if it really was an MR then i wouldnt doubt its power, i heard those are powerhouses! Steiner 08-13-2005, 12:56 AM if it really was an MR then i wouldnt doubt its power, i heard those are powerhouses! The MR has the same power as all the other Evos. It just has 6 gears, softer shocks and a couple other little cosmetic things. danno_SS 08-13-2005, 01:01 AM Good Death, must get new mods .. .., must ..make .. more power. Maybe we'll get lucky and see this guy at the track tomorrow to find out what sort of power he's putting down. TatII 08-13-2005, 01:18 AM cams do wonders for the evo. he probrably has those. Mr. Luos 08-13-2005, 10:01 AM So why did you sell an Evo for a Trans AM? I would have. :evillol: I prefer the Trans Am looks over the Evo. I don't care for the Evo's looks at all. Just an opinion of course. xXxRocker5150 08-13-2005, 12:56 PM ^ I'm sick of you mr. money bags! Always gettin' the new parts, and women (yea I saw your videos). Good lookin' bastard (your car that is)... And those EVOs are quick little suckers, but I don't like the styling either. 2000LS1Z28 08-13-2005, 01:04 PM I sold my former 2003 Evo due to it having problems. Redneck383 can vouch for me owning it, as well as Danno SS. I had a freak of nature accident happen to it where something flew in the engine bay, destroyed all the belts, and the crank sensor/plate. I paid $890+ to have it all repaired, and they didn't do the job right. To top it off I also had to put in yet another new clutch (Ask your mechanic how much he'll charge you to replace a clutch on that car). Anyways, TatII I had cam gears, turboback exhaust, XEDE piggyback, and a Walbro fuel pump. He definitely had more then that, cause the car I have now is faster top end wise then my former Evo by a long shot. Igovert500 08-13-2005, 06:17 PM Nice loss. TatII 08-14-2005, 02:11 AM well i was talkin about cam shafts. ( hks cams ) i've seen before and after videos of evo's with the camshafts, and its a night and day difference. 2000LS1Z28 08-14-2005, 02:42 AM Hmm I dunno, I know that the turbo on the 05's are a little more robust (10.5 hotside turbo). He might of been running race gas for all I know, cause he was trying to race a BMW before me. No matter, I just got back from the track, so I know my car's quicker now. I was beginning to think it slowed down (I ran a 13.529 @ 106.1 mph) solaris=amazing 08-14-2005, 03:36 PM 13.5 is pretty damn fast.... Mr. Luos 08-14-2005, 06:34 PM 13.5 is pretty damn fast.... His trap time tells me there is more in it as well. Close to a 12 he should be. Of course, I am the same way. That first 60' of the track kills me. -The Stig- 08-14-2005, 07:13 PM His trap time tells me there is more in it as well. Close to a 12 he should be. Of course, I am the same way. That first 60' of the track kills me. I got 14.3 @ 105.42... lol... bad clutch and no traction. I gotta ditch these 245's on the rear of this damn car... too skinny and not sticky. 2000LS1Z28 08-14-2005, 08:00 PM His trap time tells me there is more in it as well. Close to a 12 he should be. Of course, I am the same way. That first 60' of the track kills me. Yeah it should have low 13's in it IMO. I'm ordering the HP Tuner program shortly, to raise my overprotective rev limiter, which was kicking in at 5800-6000 rpms. I really need to work on my launch, as a 2.2 on DR's isn't good at all. Dunno what I was doing wrong, gonna have to find out from someone that knows how to launch an F body. On a side note I ran better then Horsepower TV's LS Gun ran, and they have a more aggressive cam, tuning, exhaust, 12 bolt rear, and some forged parts. They only ran a 13.9 sec. pass, so I don't feel all that bad :D Oh and Matty's car is really strong. He didn't even put it into 4th at the end of the 1/4 mile, so he might even trap higher. Mr. Luos 08-15-2005, 11:50 AM Well, I am hoping to trap around 113-115 here with this new motor, late next month!! That should be a 122-124 trap at sea level. Weeee! I know all about the problem with the stock clutch. I can get you pics of mine. Toast  5800-6000. Stock limiter is 6150-6200. Not sure what it is exactly. Your tach is probably climbing fast enough that is lags behind a little bit. 2000LS1Z28 08-15-2005, 02:50 PM Found a shop w/ an HPTuner programmer that will dyno my car, and tune it. They will do it for $350. I'm hoping to see 350 whp when all is said and done. Mr. Luos 08-15-2005, 03:08 PM Not bad. As long as they know what they are doing. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
