removing drive shaft on 95Swansen 08-12-2005, 05:57 PM i was talking to a few people and they were saying the only hard part about doing so is reattaching the spline on the shaft to the transfer case. but thats all they gave me i was hoping for some specifics. The reason i'm taking off the drive shaft is because the front axel seal at the differential is leaking. teemsta 08-12-2005, 09:49 PM i take my front driveshaft off every year after winter is over. i have a bad vc in transfercase and get better gas mileage all summer. 8 bolts takes it off. reall simple. 4 in front and 4 in back of shaft xxjojoxx 08-12-2005, 10:27 PM ive had my shaft off for a few years now (having problems with the axle or tc). when you reattach the shaft make sure you have the car up on jacks so you can move the tires to line up the transfer case.
