:iceslolan First things first ...This Forum is GREAT ! ...Many Thanks to you guys for your help with my 97 heads and engine especially CDRU  ... You saved me tons of work and expense... My 97 Trans Sport runs great now ... I just drove it down and filled the tank, gas is $2.57 now WOW ! The carpet in the 97 has melted crayons in it and a brown mud stain in front that I cannot get out !
I have been thinking of NEW CARPET ... Has anyone changed the carpet in a Trans Sport, Venture or Silhouette ? is it a hard job ?
I figure somebody out there has done it ??? or maybe know some tricks to get those pesky stains out ? THANK YOU ! BOB IN MICHIGAN

I would check with a local carpet store or carpet cleaning company to see if they have suggestions for the stains. The crayon may need to either be frozen to make it brittle allowing it to shatter and be scraped off, or melted and absorbed carefully. You might look up some information about removing candle wax from carpet as the same thing would likely apply.

As to removing the carpet, it probably won't be hard to remove just a lot of trim pieces to remove. All the seats and moulding around doors will have to be removed. The plastic inserts for the rear seats come out by removing the "key" in the middle. A blade screwdriver easily pops those out. The moulding in the back, the front door post, and under the dash may also need removed or it might be able to just pull out the old carpet from underneith it.

The problem will be getting new carpet to fit correctly. Unless you go with OEM that is. Aftermarket carpet likely wouldn't have the same padding glued to the back so you'd have to find something similar to take it's place. It's unlikely you would get a clean release from the old carpet backing.

What may be easier would be to get a piece of thin carpeting to lay over the existing carpeting. My parents did that with several of our vans when we were growing up. If the carpet ever needed cleaned or replaced, it was a piece of cake to just pop it out and pop it back in. Kept the original carpeting like new...of course the rest of the vehicle ultimately fell apart due to old age and us kids but that's another story :)
