I just installed aftermarket rims on a Blazer. I didn't put that plastic (spacer/shim?) in the center bore. I do not have the plastic inserts(hubcentric rings) now now, thrown away! Will this pose a safety problem? Wheel coming loose?

Hub rings center the wheel on the hub, so without those rings the wheel would be centered by the bolt circle - not the best way.

Safety? - not unless the wheel gets really off center!

Vibration? - got a 50/50 chance!

I guess I'm a little nervous about the situation...I work at an automotive place part time and am new to this ~3 months exp. I just don't want anybody hurt on my account. I torqured using star pattern, so I hope that they are lined up and don't produce vibration. Next time I'll know what to do. I read a lot of stuff in different forums and about half the people think that thes hub rings take the load off the studs, and transfering it to the hub, but would that nylon really hold up? I don't know, I'm trying to figure it out....Thanks for the info CapriRacer
